Halloween is postponed thanks to Sandy. No trick or treating here, like many other nearby towns. We have to wait until next week. I still dressed the girls in Halloween shirts! They were so excited to wear their special shirts. Well, Teagan was, she had picked her shirt out. Ashlin was just happy to have a shirt on, she doesn’t care yet.
I may try to get some pictures of the girls in their costumes over the weekend, if it’s sunny. I’d like to get a few good ones, where they aren’t all bulked up with thermal underwear and layers thanks to the cold evening. Not sure if they’ll be in the mood to comply, but we’ll try anyway.
A rescheduled Halloween just means we have time to decorate again. Time to watch more scary movies, eat more candy. I may have to buy some more by next week ;)
Wondered what was being done about that. This is the first year (in 3 years -time I’ve been in community)that I even ‘saw’ kids scouring the neighborhood. However, the POA had ‘notified’ us in advance that since we had acquired ‘younger’ families, we needed a safe night for the kids. We came back from church right at the ‘end’ of the trick/treat episode, so didn’t have to have candy. We had opted out to have our house on the route since we were at church. Maybe next year. I love seeing the costumes and the looks they get when the candy falls into their ‘bag’/pumpkin. Hope the weather isn’t too brutal next week.
I think it’s awesome that the community had a safe night and a trick or treat route! Sometimes you just don’t know if you can go up to a house or not. We told Teagan that we’d be dressing them up Saturday and doing a sort of treasure hunt. Like Easter :D But with more pictures, of course. Yay!
Yah…more pics. Can’t wait. At least you have given them a ‘trick or treat’ event.
I took almost a hundred pictures today… I’ll go through them as quickly as possible. We have friends, who lost power, staying over tonight.
The girls LOVED their treasure hunt!
