What to muse about today?

Teagan’s head is going to explode when she sees this!  LaLa & PopPop have gotten both girls a swing set for their birthday.  Such a wonderful gift.  We have an infant swing hanging from a cherry tree in the front yard, and both girls love swinging.  Teagan is a bit too big for the seat now, so this will be a very welcome present.

Now, the trouble is getting it to the house, the store manager told my mom that it wouldn’t fit in the car.  And then we have to figure out how to get it up.  I have no idea how to safely install this…  Hopefully, there’ll be some instructions about how to anchor it down securely.

It’s going to be a fun summer!!

It is an awesome gift! The girls will use that for years!

I wish the store would deliver, and assemble, but alas! They don’t! :(

Everyone recommends you lay all the pieces out and lable them. Pair them with hardware and organize it all in groups by order of what needs to be done first. Some say 8 hours others say 16. Ack! But once it’s up they will love it!”

We went with this one, as it wasn’t too big, and had two swings. I heard the same too, that it’s not too bad if you lay everything out and label it first. Hopefully, it doesn’t take 16 hours! OMG! The girls would starve if it did. LOL!

Ours took about 12 hours to build. And you need much more tan bark for padding then you think. We followed the recommendations and almost doubled it. I would suggest having 3 or 4 of you. Rich and I started ours and a neighbor who saw us struggling came and helped. He was a lifesaver because of course the kids still needed to be taken care of. Plan on pizza and libations and a lot of patience!!

Awesome pointers. We hadn’t even thought about the wood chips… I was wondering how to cover the sandbox when not in use :)

I wonder if I can talk some friends into a swing set assembly party? :D

Not sure if I could get a handyman, though there are places that will come assemble, and maybe I should look into that.

There’s no way I could dedicate that much time with the girls here and unsupervised :D

Yay! That’s awesome. I so wish a swingset was in our budget–or in the budgets of our lovely families. Poor grandchild #5 on both sides–grandparents blew their budgets years ago ;) Party at Teagan’s house!

We are totally lucky! Our girls are also probably going to be the only grandchildren. If it was just up to us, we probably would be scouring craigslist for a cheap little tykes one…

So, would G like a play date, sometime after the ground thaws a bit?
