    • Thanks! Her cheeks have some color, so we’re happy about that. The past few days, except last night’s trip to the ER, she’s been paler than her sister and our fridge :D

She was severely dehydrated, so needed to get some IV fluid.

    • She’s been pounded with one thing after another lately… Double ear infection, fever, cold, , rash, allergic reaction, and finallysome sort of plaguey/pukey norovirus that got everyone but her older sister. Hoping that now her fluid levels are topped off, she’ll be able to catch up and heal!

I know we are in a bit of a cold snap but I don’t think it is going to last long.. Feel better..”

        • Colleen: It looks like she may be, playing, happier than she has been in days, I’m hoping the next few days are easier than the last few weeks have been! Maybe the cold snap we’re going through will help! One can hope!

  4. I hope that all goes well. When Kate was a baby, they took her away to do the IV because they said it was too hard on the moms to watch. (plus they wrapped her up like a mummy which she did not like!) Keep us posted, you poor things. Hugs to all!!!

    • I was one of the three people to hold her down, while a fourth jabbed. The IV was not easy to place… I can understand why they took her away…

Getting the last bit now and then we go home.

    • Totally been hell-like lately! And hopefully tonight’s IV was the last circle for her. We just want her to be her happy and non-sleeping through the night self!

  6. How hard for you! What precipitated the 2nd trip? I’m glad they will let you go home and not keep her overnight. How are you going to work tomorrow?

    • Yeah, hasn’t been an easy night. We’re home now. Thankfully. We called the doctor’s office – same on-call doctor as last night – because Ashlin wasn’t wetting diapers. Again. She sent us back, called ahead – again! – and told them that they needed to give the kid an IV to top her off, that she’s just not catching up.

So, working tomorrow, well, I do need to see what I can do around needing to keep Ashlin home to pump more pedialyte into her…

    • She’s been run through a gamut of disease and illnesses since mid-January. It feels like we’ve been in the doctors office at least twice a week for a month now… Hoping that the fluid she got tonight at the ER will give her a chance to get over the last of this string.

    • Thanks Nina! It’s been really crazy lately, as you can see… It would have been nice to keep on the no hospital track we had been, with Teagan, but well… The baby was doing much better today, so the IV was worth it. Wish that we could have avoided it, but it helped, so was worth it.
