Got Your Nose!

Ashlin has a few new party tricks.  More than just pulling off your glasses.

Her first new, and much repeated trick is to try to nurse on your nose.  Once you get past the oog factor, it’s very cute.  This is usually attempted on men.  Not sure why.  As a bonus, she hasn’t left any vacuum marks yet!

The next trick is a bit similar, to the first.  A variation on the theme.  She tries to nurse on my chin.  This game, so far, is only with me!  She’ll get two big handfulls of hair and use them to move in for the big suction connection.  And she tries almost any time she’s in my lap.  Other than the pain from the hair pulling, it’s totally funny.

The most recent trick, or more like game, is where she’s sitting on Stu’s lap and turns his head to the side and pulls on his ear.  Every time he turns his head back, she almost whip-lash turns it back, so she can pull his ear.  Usually her hand is on his chin or cheek, but a few times, she’s used his hair to turn his head to the side.  She’s totally fascinated!  I’m going to try to video it.  So cute!

I am totally hoping this last game keeps her occupied.  We don’t want any of this going on:

It's hard to pull up when you're wearing a sack!

I love it! She is so determined! And I love your blog. I keep wanting to create one for our family but am clueless.

She is! Very much so! I wish she’d chill a little bit, take things a bit more slowly. Though she does seem to be a bit slower than her sister at talking, she’s ahead at the movement milestones now.

And thank you! I try to keep up with it.. You just need to start, not worry about it, and try to make entries as often as you can…

Riana: Thank you!! Teagan used to try something similar, maybe nose and not chin? But she would also bite for a bit after a tooth came in, so yeah, never knowing if it’ll stay a hug and big slobbery kiss or become a nip is never fun. It does eventually stop though… Ashlin isn’t biting yet, she doesn’t have any teeth, and I’m so not looking forward to that stage.

Christie: LOL! I hope she’s not too wild! Ashlin has just started pulling my shirt open, though she doesn’t crawl up yet. Yet. She will scoot around though… Now that she’s trying to pull up, well, true motion is just around the corner. Why can’t she slow down??

No more sacks for Ashlin! I can’t believe she still fits into them. It is an interesting way to slow her down..hee..hee. Thomas was far faster than Katie at the physical milestones and much slower to talk. He walked at nine months but Katie took until close to 15 months. She was talking in complete sentence at 18 mos, he took until 2. The little one is dying to catch the older one. Wait until she is old enough to go after Teagan’s toys!

Ashlin is already going for Teagan’s toys, well, if they’re in reach that is.

It is weird how kids are different. Teagan was saying mama by now, Ashlin just doesn’t care. It’s all Dada all the time, with an occasional Lalala…

I’m going to try to keep her in the sacks as long as possible, at least for the winter… They make 12 month ones and I think 18 month, but we never used one that long. Teagan eventually slowed down at night and stayed under a blanket in the winter.
