What to muse about today?

September 27, 2011 ~ On A Carousel

on September 27, 2011

After her first exposure to a carousel and fair rides, Teagan was raring to go “ride car, ride horsey” again. Thank goodness there was a small carousel nearby:

Meanwhile, Ashlin watched her sister go around and around:

She got to go around a total of 9 times, 8 all by herself. The last time, the girl sitting next to her handed her rings. It was so sweet.

So cute! Wow, way to embrace the carousel. We should try to tag team it before the season ends. When we were headed to the Big E, G just assumed: “Teagan be there?” His carousel buddy.

Awwww…. I think these two may become the next “star-crossed lovers.” LOL! Ok, well, maybe not quite yet. Teagan does ask for Gufrie just about every day. So sweet that he thought she’d be there.

We totally need to try to get there together. Maybe even for some food. She would love it, I know. Even just seeing G again, without a carousel :) We let her go crazy, as well, $1 a ride that goes to charity? Ten bucks for such smiles and giggles? Cheap. Priceless.

Barbara, I think the only reason she was so brave, was the weekend before we went to the fair with another toddler, who is totally fearless. She likes playing with him, so she followed him on the rides. She was terrified of the big carousel at first, and we had to move to a bench instead of riding the horse that went up and down. But she watched her friend ride the big horse. She wanted to try before we left, but was very hesitant about it. She was also a bit scared of the little car ride, but LOVED it once she got around 2-3 times. I don’t think she realized that she would be on it alone.

So, since her friend did it, and she did survive the other rides on her own, she wanted to go. Locally we have this “mini” carousel all the time, so took her there. The horses don’t move, really, so it’s like a big swing, but she had fun.

Maybe what you need to do is go with a friend of hers? Or wait a few months. Teagan didn’t even look twice at the beginning of the summer, and probably wouldn’t have if we weren’t there with her friend too.
