Whatever!

What to muse about today?

This one, on the other hand, was good. She slept, was mostly quiet, and didn’t cry for an hour tonight. She only cried when her arm got stuck under her belly after rolling over. Oh, and maybe a little bit when she was tired. From sticking her tongue out all day, giggling, and sitting up all big and everything in her bumbo.

Oh, we’ve all been there. It is so frustrating and then you feel like the worst mom in the world because you have really bad thoughts about your kid. This is the terrible 2’s. Can the daycare do anything to help her sleep? She has to be cranky for them too. You did everything right, your not a bad mommy, you are a human one. There are days when nothing works. I found blowing bubbles, even in the house, sometimes distracted. (I think they thought what is the crazy woman doing with bubbles in the kitchen!)

It does make me feel better that it’s not unusual. She’s been a pretty good kid, up to now. She does get a bit beastly when she’s overtired, but nothing like her antics last night. Last night had me questioning why I had a kid in the first place. LOL! When we were outside, I just wanted to crawl in a hole, because the neighbors could hear and see her. And me.

This morning, she was all sweetness, like it never happened.

I know that day care realizes she’s a cranky pants by the end of the day. There is one instructor that is good at getting her to nap, but she’s in the toddler room, not the Two’s. Part is that she’s in more advanced rooms, and they just don’t “baby” her like they do in the toddler/young-toddler rooms It’s also not fair to expect the instructors to take the time to rock her or whatever she needs there to get to sleep. Home, she’s fine, we put her in her crib and she sleeps. She doesn’t have any distractions at home though. The Two’s room is a corner of a big room and only has half walls, so there’s a lot of distraction there.

Stu’s “winky winky woo” was a great distraction for a few weeks to stop her crying. She’s caught on… we need a new one :D

Thanks Kat!! I do think it’s a reflection of what she thinks of us. Though, she does smile quite a bit. She’s a very happy baby!

Thanks Shannon! She’s such a happy kid! One of her favorite games is the sticking out the tongue game! She’ll play for an hour before she gets too tired!
