Although Ashlin loves her converted bed, it doesn’t love her. She’s been falling out at least once a night. I go in and find her crying, half asleep, standing there unable to figure out how to get back in bed. So, tonight we are trying a lifehack – a pool noodle!
I picked one up on the way home from work and cut it down a bit – she was having trouble crawling over it. Hopefully it helps. I’m sure she’s not enjoying falling out of bed. It must be a bit shocking.
Even though you can’t tell, she’s very happy to get in bed, with her noodle bumper and her crocheted blanket. I got her before she did the “I love you” sign she does every night. Sweet girl.
Today was a good day, I got a new toy! A co-worker’s husband made me an Amish Swift. It’s awesome! I couldn’t wait to get home to wind some yarn. Heh. I feel all official and serious now that I have both a swift and a ball winder. Making cake is fun :D
Now. What am I going to do with this yarn??

Thanks! I do too! I’m sure she’ll sleep much better without falling out!
And thank you! The pattern was from the Lion Brand site – Baby Blocks. I really liked it because it was easy to bring the square I was working on around with me, and not the whole thing!

Oh! That’s a good idea! If I hadn’t found the noodle at the dollar store, I’d try that instead.
BTW, the noodle worked great! I re-positioned her when I went to bed, but she didn’t fall out!
Both kids used a bed rail that tucked under the mattress. It left about 12 inches at the foot of the bed for them to get in and out.
I remember! I helped set Katie’s room up, way back when you moved in :D
Those rails are awesome, but are too long for the crib… Teagan’s crib had a front piece that we were able to put toddler rails on. Ashlin’s doesn’t have that :(
Though, the noodle worked very well!
Glad to read the post responses and find that the noodle solved the problem, at least for last nite. :) And I agree that the blanket is wonderful. Love the colors and the blocks are eye-catching and very pleasing. Ashlin is indeed a big girl now. xxoo BTW sorry to bombard you with so many responses…have had company and no computer time. HA HA

And she’s very happy with her blanket. There’s been a few pictures with her and the blanket since I finished it, but I’ve never posted the finish… I should do that!
She’s getting so big. So fast.

I’m seeing them for toddler beds everywhere now. before I had only seen for twin sized beds, or something from the crib maker themselves. Thankfully, the noodle is working well. Hopefully she’ll get it all figured out before she moves to a full sized bed, if not, we’ll be getting one of those rails.
