This little one is getting so big, so fast. It’s sad and awesome at the same time. She’s so different than her sister, though there’s a fierce independent streak, a stubbornness, they both share. Not sure where that came from.
She has to put her pants on, or at least make a serious attempt to do it herself. She’s trying to imitate her sister, asking to go potty, though there’s been no success there. Using three word sentences, occasionally referring to herself in first person, though usually it’s a regal and proud third. ”I wan joose/I want juice.” ”Ashlin have juice.” “Want more book.” Words are just falling out of her mouth now, I can’t keep up with how many she has.
Nothing but leaps and bounds.
Ashlin climbed into her booster chair yesterday without Stu nor I noticing. All on her own. She was half snapped in when Stu saw her. He asked if I had done it, but I was busy getting dinner to the table. We gave her the chance again tonight, and watched her carefully climb up, slowly turn around and settle in, trying to snap herself in. With a big smile on her face, and then she said “Ashlin did it!”
Yes, my big girl. You did it. All by yourself.
Now, please. Slow down.

laughing! she’s gorgeous :-)
Thank you! She is a lovely baby, most of the time :)
But she won’t…..they just grow up too fast it seems. :-( Love the picture. She’ll be ready for the first 3 legged race or the sack race for sure. :-)
My little mermaid :D
No, she won’t, but at least we’re along for the ride.
Aw! These are the best times. Learning something new every day. Fun, fun, fun…. Avis x
It really is! Sometimes you forget how much fun it is, until you’re back in it. Makes up for lots of early morning wakenings :D
The second one always seems to go faster than the first one.
Yeah, I’m seeing that! She’s surprising us with the stuff she *can* do, stuff that we didn’t expect to be doing yet. With Teagan we watched and waited for her to do stuff :)
Day care yesterday was saying how well Ashlin was doing in the two’s, already. Teagan didn’t start mixing in until she was at least 2 and a few months… Ash has spent entire days in there.
