Tonight Teagan read me a book. ”The Duckling Gets A Cookie?!” Stu got it as a treat for him yesterday, and only read it to her once.
She has another in the series, “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” and she loves it. She will read that one too. But this was impressive, as it was the first or second time Stu read this book. I lucked out and had the iPhone ready. I’m not sure why there are so many ants in her version. They aren’t actually in the book. She is quite taken with ants lately.
At least she says please. And! No! No cookie for you! And no screaming. If only she listened to herself sometimes. The poor pigeon is crying, because [sic] him want a cookie. All his feathers and all the duck feathers fall off because him [sic] crying. And then the duck doesn’t have a face! Oh, wait! There it is!
Teagan’s version of the story ends well, with the pigeon getting a cookie. Everyone should have a cookie. Even the ants.
We may need to get more of these books, if only for her versions!

“Thanks for sharing : )”
Thanks Lori! She’s very good at reading stories! I need to try to catch them more often.

Becky, thanks! We love the other pigeon book we have. I’m sure we’ll be getting some of the Elephant ones too!
What a little entomologist in the making. Very sweet.
Yeah. Unless its a “bad” spider and not a “nice” spider. Not that I know the difference.
Unfortunately, I think the ants bit her. She had a weird rash this morning. :(
I love Mo Willem’s! He is one of my favorite children’s book authors.
My Simon is quite taken with ants lately too. He gets excited and just HAS to tough them. When he does he shouts: “I did it!!!”
Errr, *touch them
Mo Willems rocks!! Yeah, ants seem to be the bug of choice. Well, those and wiggly worms. And pill bugs. Oh, and carpenter/bumble bees. But not spiders. At least, not the “bad” spiders.
We found a lovely rash on her legs this morning, and we have our fingers crossed that they are ant bites… and not something worse. We may need to have a “talk” about how close we can be to ants, and I’m hoping it’s not that, but also don’t want it to be anything worse.

Thanks!! I have to remember to record more of these moments. They’ll be good all too soon, I fear.

Teagan loves the Pigeon books. We have to get more, especially the Elephant ones :)
Stu was very happy to see this book at the store, as it came out just last week.
